Katherine's Story

Born on Feb. 3, 1967, passed away on Sunday, April 17,  2011, at her home in Cooperstown.Katherine attended Palmyra Macedon Elementary School and graduated from Caledonia- Mumford Central School.
She received her bachelor of science degree in Travel, Hotel and Restaurant Business Administration from Niagara University, Niagara Falls.
Katherine was a Facility Events Coordinator at Fenimore Art Museum and Farmers’ Museum, also coordinating events at The Otesaga Hotel and Resort on Otsego Lake, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Glimmerglass Opera in Cooperstown; Career Assistant Store Manager at Barnes and Noble in Hyannis, Mass.; Catering Sales Manager at Jekyll Island Club Hotel, which is a National Historic Landmark and a member of Historic Hotels of America at Jekyll Island, Ga.; Cottage Rentals Coordinator (for 200 privately-owned properties) Sea Island Co., Sea Island, Ga.; Spa Manager Golf Lodge and the Cloister Spa Salon and Fitness Complex, a Mobile Five Star and AAA Five-Diamond Property at Sea Island, Ga.; Manager on Duty, Resort Property Anheuser- Busch Kings Mill Resort and Spa, Williamsburg, Va.; Assistant Restaurant Manager, Kings Arms Cavern, Colonial Williamsburg, Va.; Front Office Representative, Inn Colonial Houses, Caverns, Lodge and Conference Center; an HMA  Certified Supervisor at theMobil Five Star and AAA Five Diamond Rated Williamsburg Inn and Lodge; Conference Coordinator Hotel and Resort Sales, Colonial Williamsburg, Va.
Katherine’s life has always been accompanied by her loving partner, Michael Gregory, Executive Chef at The Otesaga Hotel and Resort, Cooperstown.
She is survived by her brother, Wells Hanna; her mother, Jane Hanna, who is a retired physical education teacher from Fairport Central School District; her uncle and aunt, Cyril and Joanne Resch; nephews, Timothy and Candace Resch, Mark and Melanie Resch; close family, friends and colleagues, who were all part of Katherine’s life. She was predeceased by her
 grandparents, Cyril Resch andDorothy Cameron Resch.
Katherine was a person of grace, and brought that grace into the lives of all she met.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in the Fenimore Room at The Otesaga Resort Hotel, 60 Lake St., Cooperstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susquehanna SPCA, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
