June B. Gale, of Cooperstown, passed away Wednesday morning, March 30, 2011, at Otsego Manor, where she had been a resident for nearly five years. She was 91.
Born Nov. 24, 1919, in Binghamton, June was a daughter of Hayden and Rachael (Hall) Gale.
Employed as a photo color painter for several years, she moved to Cooperstown in 1957, with her son, Brad. She worked for Van’s TV, Rod’s TV, Ray’s Electric and finally as a ward clerk at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital.
June is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Vroman of Oneonta; nephew, Hayden Spencer and family of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister-in-law in Binghamton; along with several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Bradley Rogers; four sisters, including, Ruth H. Spencer of Cooperstown; and one brother.
Per June’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Interment will be private and at a later date in the family plot in Lakewood Cemetery in Cooperstown.
June’s family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at Otsego Manor, especially those in Shady Glen Household, for their kind, loving and compassionate care during her residence there. A special thanks to the caregivers from Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care during the last weeks of her life.
