MILLPORT — Alta G. (Wedderspoon) Sydelko, 96, of Millport, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls.
She was born in Pierstown, on April 21, 1919, the daughter of the late James R. and Nancy May Wedderspoon.
Alta graduated from Cooperstown High School and married George P. Sydelko in 1945, in Texas.
She was a homemaker and a former Chemung County 4-H Leader. She was a volunteer for the Millport school and library, and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and William C. Bragg of Winchester, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Pamela Sydelko of Woodbridge, Ill.; sister, Nola E. Osterhoudt of Sharon Springs; three granddaughters; two grandsons; three great- granddaughters; and six nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, George P. Sydelko, who died in 1993.
Funeral services were May 16, at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls. Burial followed in Montour Cemetery.
